DSB SELECTS SOGECLAIR TO SUPPORT TRAIN DRIVER TRAINING FOR COPENHAGEN'S FUTURE S-TRAIN NETWORK

Blagnac, October 21, 2026
- SOGECLAIR Training & Simulation has been selected by DSB (Danske Statsbaner), Denmark's national railway operator, to deliver train driving simulators supporting the modernization of S-train driver education for Copenhagen's current S-train network in an ambitious and critical period for DSB and its long-term automation roadmap toward 2038.

The contract includes the development and delivery of six Compact simulators, together with an instructor station and a debriefing station, as well as a maintenance agreement with a minimum duration of thirteen years. The systems will support both initial and recurrent training activities, helping prepare operators for a modern & flexible approach to the operational environment of the Danish capital's suburban rail network on its way to automation.

"The deployment of advanced signalling technologies and the progressive automation of rail operations are reshaping training requirements across the industry. We are proud to support DSB in this transformation by providing immersive simulation solutions that will enable operators to build and maintain the competencies required to safely manage increasingly advanced and high-performing networks " Valentin Reyjal, VP SOGECLAIR Training & Simulation.

Beyond driving skills development, the simulators will enable operators to familiarize themselves with Siemens' Train Guard CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control) signalling system, a cornerstone technology of the future network. Unlike conventional signalling architectures relying on trackside signals, CBTC continuously communicates movement authorities and speed information directly to the cab. This approach improves network capacity, operational efficiency and service reliability while requiring operators to master multiple operating modes and degraded scenarios.

SOGECLAIR’s demonstration of its ability to accurately replicate complex railway environments and model next-generation signalling systems was a key factor in DSB’s selection. Drawing on more than 35 years of experience in railway simulation, the Group develops immersive training solutions for rail operators and infrastructure managers worldwide.

Its simulators combine advanced modelling of infrastructure and operational systems, high-fidelity rolling stock simulation, and a training approach focused on safety and operational performance. This expertise enables SOGECLAIR to integrate and simulate major signalling technologies such as ERTMS, ETCS, CBTC and NExTEO, which are at the heart of major rail transport modernisation programmes across Europe.

" The new simulators will allow our S-train drivers to practice a much wider range of operational situations than they would encounter in day-to-day service—including rare and challenging scenarios. In a realistic, controlled environment, they can repeat these situations, building skills and confidence to respond when operations change " Palle Mørkøre, Senior Vice President for train operations in DSB

This project marks the beginning of a long-term partnership between DSB and SOGECLAIR. Combined with a maintenance contract spanning at least thirteen years.

Beyond this contract, the project reflects the trust placed in SOGECLAIR by railway stakeholders to support their transformation projects. It confirms the Group's position as a leading provider of railway simulation solutions, capable of supporting the most demanding projects in training, signalling and the evolution of operating modes.
